This clock is by John Jameson of Dublin. The clock is technically a domestic regulator, having a deadbeat escapement, maintaining power and hardwood pendulum rod. These features make for a fine accurate clock with minimum interference due to temperature changes. The clock would have been very much a statement piece for the upper / middle class owner at the time.
It has an 8 day movement, striking the hour on a gong.
The case is veneered with a beautiful flame mahogany.
Its dial (face) is a painted dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands.
